Children and family centres are our local hubs of friendly places and services for children, families and community. Promoting positive childhoods meerilinga is a western australian not-for-profit organisation and registered charity that promotes positive childhoods through direct services and programs that work with children, childhood professionals and planners, families, social investment partners and the broader community.

A commitment to well families has seen us develop one off nutritional programs to improve the health and healthy being of the community. The program was designed to train health protection workers, playgroup leaders, community officers etc. who labor with families and carers with toddlers (13 years) to be facilitators of Toddler Tucker. Developed and tested to aid parents grasp how babies experience food and feeding, enable them to prosper a feeding relationship based on trust, construct on parents’ accepting of their child’s development, eating skills and behaviors and construct their confidence about starting solids and moving from solids to family foods. Long term the goal was for parents to grasp the normal development of eating behaviors, encourage enjoyment of well eating, prevent development of eating difficulties and lessen non nutritious food preferences. Designed to produce information about well lunch box food to parents and teachers using information collated from research, children, parents, teachers, testing and with the expertise and guidance of health education representatives. The goal of the program was to assist parents choose apropos foods and prepare and deposit foods to keep them safe and appetizing in the lunch box. Parents were able to read about choosing healthy and tasty foods for their children, keeping lunch box food sound to eat, comprehend why some children don’t eat their lunch at school and what they could do to make lunch box food enjoyable and healthy. Meerilinga has a range of playgroups with activities organized each week to suit families, support transitions to early learning, construct the parent child relationship and connect families to local services. During his professional life, he has spoken widely about taxation matters, worked on a voluntary basis in community organizations and maintained a highly energetic lifestyle participating in a range of sports over many years. He has a long range of clients, but has a special focus on the mining, mining services and energy and instinctive resources industries as healthy as the property sector. Through these industry roles and her academic experiences, Dr Grzyb has contributed to broader industry development, advocacy to governments and the development of partnership opportunities, particularly in relation to small and lenient enterprises in their key relationships with the corporate sector. In terms of training and finding places for fresh volunteers at our Children and Family centers, we are currently at capacity and find we need to put a freeze on our volunteer intake for the concise term. Volunteers make a meaningful contribution to Meerilinga and to the children and families they labor with and we recognize that volunteers are valuable members of our team. The meaning of the word Meerilinga is not defined but it is thought to be derived from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island language Meeri distant, Lina thunder. Began in 1985, the identical year that Western Australia became a member of the Children’s Week Council of Australia with Meerilinga as the official convener. is arrogant to have been the beneficiary of a number of Lotterywest Grants improving our programs and services for the community.

Australian Family Magazine is a release parenting magazine that is offered to premature childhood services to distribute to families. The magazine is distributed twice a year (Winter and Summer) and usually includes product samples that are of interest to young families. They have partnered themselves with some of Australia’s largest consumer products organizations to bring you quality product samples. One or more of your staff will hand one magazine, including samples if provided, to one adult parent guardian of each kid upon collection of the child at the last of the days on which the Member distributes the magazine and samples.
